In Rockstar‘s new detective, adventure game L.A. Noire, there are assigned cases and unassigned cases, also known as Street Crimes. You can get three L.A. Noire Street Crimes Achievements for completing these unassigned cases: L.A. Noire A Cop on Every Corner Achievement, L.A Noire Johnny on the Spot Achievement, and L.A. Noire Long Arm of the Law Achievement.
As you are playing through the game, if you are in a police car, you will randomly hear radio broadcasts about Street Crimes that are occurring. Unlike the assigned cases in L.A. Noire, you don’t get a star-rating for completing these cases, and usually there aren’t any clues to collect or questions to ask. Most of these cases are a simple shoot out, which is useful for unlocking the L.A. Noire Dead Men are Heavier Achievement and L.A. Noire Wooden Overcoats Achievement. You won’t hear the broadcasts for these Street Crimes if you are not in a police car, so if you are going after these achievements, being in a police car is a good idea.
However, you don’t have to do these Street Crimes while you are playing through the game. After you finish, if you go to the “Cases” option in the main menu, you can choose to free roam in any of the desks that you were on during the game. From these free roam sessions you can complete any Street Crimes that you did not complete while playing through the game. In free roam, these Street Crimes show up on the city map, and you can set them as your destination, making it even easier to complete them. When you complete all the Street Crimes on a particular desk, an announcement will pop up on the screen letting you know that you have completed all the Street Crimes on that desk.
You will get 30 gamer points for each of these achievements.
